Counselling Concepts Publishing

Welcome counsellors, psychologists, social workers, and other helping professionals

The purpose of this site is provide you with information about the second edition of our book, Culture-Infused Counseling. The book provides a Canadian perspective on multicultural counselling. We are very pleased to be able to offer an alternative to educators and practitioners that is focused specifically on issues of Canadian cultural identity and reflects the particular populations that counsellors and psychologists encounter in their day-to-day practice. We are also privileged to have excellent Canadian contributors to this work.

We are very pleased that the first edition was selected by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association for their 2006 Canadian Annual Book Award. The award was presented at the joint American Counseling Association / Canadian Counselling Association Annual Convention in Montreal.

The book has been designed specifically for graduate level courses and for practitioners in the field. However, it may be a valuable resource for other levels of professional training. The edition was first released on July 1, 2005. The second edition was released July 1, 2009. The second edition has an increased focus on social justice issues and action, expands the multicultural counselling competencies to reflect this social justice focus, includes current literature, and also place more emphasis on the complexity of multiple and intersecting nondominant identities, with a new chapter on this topic.
